I don’t know about you but I’m a very visual person. If I can see it, then it becomes so much more achievable which is why I am going to share with you “Why business owners should create an Inspiration Board!”

I absolutely LOVE putting my dreams down on paper to turn them into plans with actionable tasks that then become my goal(s). So, using an Inspiration Board as part of this process is key for me to have a happy, focused and fulfilled life. It’s part of my roadmap to success!

If it’s not written down it’s just a dream!

So, once I have worked on my dreams to turn them into goals and this goes for personal and business! #YOUareyourbusiness

I then start to visualise these for the year ahead. This means getting a little creative which is sooooo much fun!

Pop to your local stationery store and even check out your local Pound shop as they all have A1 or A3 reasonably priced poster frames which, I find, perfect for step one of creating my Inspiration Board.  You can also consider cork boards, pin boards, magnetic boards.

Stuck for ideas? Pinterest or Google are great places to gain some inspiration if you’re not sure where to start.

Oh yes, sorry before we go on! Let me mention here that you may well be more familiar with these being called “Vision Boards” or “Dream Boards” I am sure, if you know me well, you know why I call it what I do? For those that may not be so familiar, I am all about inspiring women and my tagline, just in case you haven’t noticed, is “Inspiring Success”! Vision board is fine but dream…for me, gives the wrong mindset!

Here is what Wikipedia have to say…

A vision board or dream board is a collage of images, pictures and affirmations of one’s dreams and desires, designed to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation and to use the law of attraction to attain goals.

So, back to what’s needed! You now have a pin board or magnetic board or perhaps an A1 poster frame – whatever works for you and your budget! You may also want to grab some funky, colourful paper, and some glitter or edging tape to jazz up a cost-effective cork board.  Get creative guys!!

Next, you’ll need to go through your old magazines, travel brochures or go and buy some that relate to your goals (formerly dreams!). You can also go onto the internet and find the images that suit your goals and print them off on a colour printer.

Now the fun can begin!!

Once you have cut out all the images, quotes etc. that reflect your personal, family and business goals you can start to get creative. You can start by ‘dressing’ the edge of the frame or board, then overlay your images/quotes etc. to make sure you like how they look before you glue or pin them on, if that is what you are doing, if you are using a magnetic board then this will be a lot easier!

I personally recommend you create a new one each year. Some people start again from scratch others keep theirs to follow their own progression.

Do what works for you!
